Shop Local for the Holiday Season in Takoma
Kicks Off with Shop Small Saturday and the Annual Pajamarama

Takoma, Park, MD (November 16, 2015)-The Takoma business district (Takoma Park, MD and the Takoma neighborhood of Washington, DC), known for its indie shops and restaurants is kicking off the holiday shopping season with two events and encouraging the community to shop local this holiday season.

On Saturday, November 28th, 2015 the businesses will participate in Shop Small Saturday – the local equivalent of the corporate “Small Business Saturday.” Shoppers are encouraged to shop and eat local to support Takoma’s locally-owned, independent businesses and pay cash for their purchases. Takoma offers a diverse mix of specialty retail with something for everyone- home goods, books, toys, clothing, bikes, jewelry, musical instruments, pet supplies and more. Gift cards from Takoma’s many health and wellness businesses also make great gifts.

On Sunday, December 6th, 2015 from 8am-11am, Takoma business owners will once again open their doors early and offer discounts to pajama-wearing shoppers for the 16th Annual Pajamarama. A sight not to be missed!   Participating businesses include: Amano, Artful Framing & Gallery, ArtSpring Community Arts Store, Capital City Cheesecake, Fair Day’s Play, Little Loft, Magic Carpet, Old Takoma Ace Hardware, Park Florist, Politics and Prose, Polly Sue’s Vintage Shop, S&A Beads, The SpiceSuite, Spring Mill Bread Company, tabletop dc, Takoma Bicycle, The Big Bad Woof, The Covered Market, Things from Egypt and Beyond, TPSS Co-op, Trohv and Willow Street Yoga Center.
