Get Ready for Takoma Park Earth Day 2015

The Takoma Park Earth Day Festival is an annual community event co-hosted by the TPSS Coop and the Old Takoma Business Association and powered by Fifth Estate Communications, to celebrate green solutions.

Over 50 local vendors will participate in our green solutions fair highlighting solar power, composting, home energy and building efficiency, eco-clothing and products, and much more. There will be plenty of fun for the kids with face painting, music, a strolling clown, a magic show plus family fun from TakomaPlays, Audubon Naturalist Society, The NatureLab, Willow Street Yoga Center, Little Loft and others. Live music by Ocho de Bastos, Valentine Slim, and the New Misty Crystals.

Re-Cycle Your Art Out!

Takoma Park’s very own TRASHY ART CONTEST is Back at this year’s Takoma Park Earth Day Festivaltrashy art

Celebrating the creative spirit of our community. Prizes will be awarded in adult and children categories to most imaginative use of re-cycle-able materials.Open to all ages and all types of non-smelly Trash! No Size Limit- Up to 2 entries per person. To participate- Just drop off your “trashy art” at the Trashy Art Contest table, between 10 am and 2 pm on the day of the festival. Winners will be announced at 3:30 pm at the Takoma Park Earth Day event!

Now is the time to go through your recycling bin and start creating. This is your opportunity to make a unique artistic and environmentally sustainable statement!

We are looking for a variety of green vendors.  We are looking for vendors that offer products and services that are keeping with the environmental spirit of Earth Day, including give-a-ways that are useful or can be recycled if discarded.
