School Segregation in Montgomery County

Ralph Buglass traces the history of black schools in Montgomery County. Many of the schools were built with financial help from philanthropist Julius Rosenwald, including the Takoma Park School on Geneva Avenue. The 1954 Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education ultimately forced the County to integrate into one school system.TT
