Lighthouse Art Installation at Rhizome

January 5 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Artist Tommy Bobo turns the Rhizome house into a lighthouse using computer controlled flood lights to simulate a spinning light in the core of the house.

Tommy Bobo’s light installation series Beacons was started in 2016 with Too Count So High,
which commemorated the first century of the Purple Heart and was placed in front of the former
Walter Reed campus in Washington, DC. LightHouse will be the second installation in the
ongoing series that explores what can be communicated with simple lights. LightHouse will be lit
for two of the longest nights of the new year to aid viewers in finding their bearings for the year.
