Make your commute the BEST part of your day – BIKE to work!

Join thousands of people from all over the DMV on their 2-wheeled commute Friday, May 17 for National Bike to Work Day!  There will be 80+ pit stops and 20+ bike convoys around the region, and a huge coffee- bagel- and energy-drink-fueled festival at Freedom Plaza in downtown DC.  It’s fun, it’s fit, and it’s FREE!

Two convoys will depart from the gazebo in Takoma Park at 7am and 7:30, destination: downtown DC.  Come early for free breakfast goodies and info about biking in the DMV.

Start Location: Gazebo across from Takoma Bikes, 7030 Carroll Avenue, TkPk, 20912
Start Times: 7:00 (convoy #1) and 7:30 am (convoy #2)
Convoy Leaders:

7am convoy:  Spencer Clark, spencerwclark at gmail dot com

7:30 convoy: Stacy Gilbert, stg2243 at yahoo dot com

These convoys follow a beginner-friendly 6.2 mile route from the gazebo in Old Takoma to downtown DC, via 3rd St, Kansas Ave & 11th St NW. While completely on-road, there are bike lanes or calm residential streets for almost the entire route. No stops are planned, though riders are welcome to join as we pass through Takoma DC, Petworth, Columbia Heights, and Shaw.

Please wear a helmet!
