Please consider making a donation to the Old Takoma Business Association, which runs the Main Street Takoma program.

Our mission is bringing together businesses, residents and community organizations dedicated to developing a vibrant market center, from the Takoma Junction, Maryland, to the Takoma Theatre, DC, to enhance our unique and historic town setting.

Your donation will go toward promoting local, independently-owned businesses, sponsoring concerts and other events, buying flowers for the Old Takoma area, recruiting and retaining businesses, and much more.

Great Pyrenees Adoption Event

Great PyreneesJoin us at The Big Bad Woof for an adoption day with one of Pennye's favourite breeds! Here is a little info about their temperament and you can find out more by going to the Appalachian Great Pyrenees web site!

The Great Pyrenees is a calm, gentle, affectionate, and loyal dog. While territorial and protective of his flock or family when necessary, his general demeanor is one of quiet composure, both patient and tolerant. He is strong willed, independent and somewhat reserved, fearless and loyal to his charges both human and animal.

Attend a Main Street Committee meeting & help your Main Street!

We have four standing committees:

  • Design, which works on the physical appearance of the area;
  • Economic Restructuring, which focuses on business retention and recruitment;
  • Promotions, which seeks to highlight local businesses to the broader Washington area, as well as create events and activities that bring people to Old Takoma;
  • Organization, which provides the structure for the whole organization and the work of the other committees.
